The Opportunity

Pet care costs are rising due to factors like inflation, a shortage of veterinary professionals, and increased demand, making pet insurance an appealing option. Experts predict the pet insurance industry will grow to $38.3 billion by 2033, as more pet owners seek financial protection for their pets’ health. However, the claims process remains problematic, with long delays for reimbursements, leaving pet owners to cover expensive bills upfront or delay essential care.

A significant bottleneck in the claims process is the role of vet tech adjusters, who must manually sift through disorganized veterinary records to process claims. This tedious and time-consuming task prevents them from using their expertise to make faster, more accurate decisions, ultimately slowing down the system and hindering the growth of pet insurance companies.

To address this, we developed an LLM-powered tool that automates the ingestion and organization of veterinary records. By generating a comprehensive pet health history, this tool enables adjusters to process claims in minutes, improving efficiency, reducing customer frustration, and supporting the growth of the pet insurance industry—all while ensuring pets receive the care they need faster.

Discovery
